Glacce website UI/UX re-design
While at Glacce, I began working on a website re-design before I left. While I didn’t complete the project then, below is my process, UX analysis, and lo-fi wireframes for a proposed design.
Current site issues:
There are too many competing elements on the homepage.
It is text-heavy and lacks hierarchy and balance.
As a commerce site, it takes a minimum 4-5 clicks to add an item to the cart, (should only take 3).
It showcases ideas over products (we get an understanding of what Glacce is but not what Glacce sells).
Proposed elements and solutions of re-design:
Showcase the naturally aesthetic products and prioritize images over text.
Use a changing hero image to highlight new products.
Allow visitors to click on items for purchase from the homepage and make sure the design of the site utilizes a “commerce first” approach.
Simplify all site language and de-prioritize/eliminate information not directly related to products and purchases.
Reduce cognitive cost on all pages and push visitors toward the purchase funnel.
